Dell Introduces Wasabi Portable Printer for $99

ZINK Imaging, Inc. today announced the fourth product incorporating their ZINK™ Zero Ink™ Printing Technology, the Dell Wasabi PZ310™ Ink-free Ultra Mobile Printer. The Wasabi is available today online in the U.S. from Dell at www.dell.com/wasabi for $99.

The ZINK Technology provides all of ZINK Imaging’s partners, including Dell, with an ink-free technology platform from which they can launch a new generation of consumer electronics devices that are embeddable, mobile, simple to use, easy to maintain, and more respectful of the planet than any other printing alternative.

Powering these ZINK-enabled products is the award-winning ZINK Paper™. The patented ZINK Paper is an advanced composite material with embedded yellow, magenta, and cyan dye crystals. ZINK-enabled devices use heat to activate and colorize these crystals. The printing process is now radically simple.

Bill Gates launches mosquitos at TED conference attendees

Some critics have accused  Microsoft of releasing software that contains bugs and other known issues in the past but today company chairman Bill Gates literally unleashes a few dozen mosquitos during the TED conference in Long Beach, California. 

Gates pulled the surprise stunt Wednesday at the Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED) conference for industry insiders, experts and technology gurus. His point: to emphasize the important message that mosquito-borne viruses, particularly malaria, are a continuing threat to people in the developing world despite the dawning of the 21st century.

“Malaria is spread by mosquitoes,” said Gates. “I brought some here. I’ll let them roam around. There is no reason only poor people should be infected,” the Microsoft chairman told stunned observers.

Amazon.com launches online games site

 

Amazon.com launched a brand new casual games download site today and will feature three free downloads for users to try out. Downloads include Jewel Quest 2, The Scruffs and Built A Lot.

The site will feature over 1,000 games all availble for $9.99 or less or a free-trial for those that aren’t sure. Free trials will run for 30 minutes and deactivate once the time is up. 

This comes months after Amazon.com bought out games distributor Reflexive Entertainment.
